China BANS celebrities from showing off their wealth on socal media

China BANS celebrities from showing off their wealth on socal media

China BANS celebrities from showing off their wealth on socal media…

China is taking steps to address what it calls its “chaotic” celebrity fan culture by ramping up control over celeb information online.

Beijing announced the new measures in a Monday statement, saying the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) will crackdown on alleged negative influence on Chinese youth by celebrities.

Celebrity obsession of material goods and lavish lifestyles has “impacted mainstream values,” the CAC wrote. Going forward, celebrity content must “promote socialist core values” and avoid “deformed aesthetics, extravagant pleasure, show off wealth and worship, etc.”

China threatened punishments against entities that spread false or malicious information regarding influencer types and increased regulation of celebrity endorsements and advertisements.

The new requirements also target fan clubs, which have skyrocketed in popularity as of late.

Nigeria confirms 3 additional cases of Omicron variant

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Tuesday confirmed additional three more cases of COVID-19 with the B.1.1.529 SARS-CoV-2 lineage, the Omicron variant, in Nigeria.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases of the Omicron variant detected in Nigeria to six .

All the Omicron cases so far were detected in persons with recent travel history to South Africa in November.

In press statement made available to Journalists, the Director General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Dr Ifedayo Adetifa said the NCDC through the National Reference Laboratory (NRL) continues to coordinate genomic surveillance activities across the country to sequence all positive COVID-19 samples from international travellers arriving in Nigeria.

This includes sequencing of positive samples from international travellers from October 2021 to date. The Delta variant remains the dominant variant and so far, we have not seen the replacement of this variant by the new Omicron variant as observed elsewhere.

He explained that the Omicron variant is a source of global concern because of its increased risk of transmissibility and its potential to escape protective immune responses induced by natural infection and/or vaccination.

“Taken together, and if true, the Omicron variant can significantly change the current global COVID-19 epidemiology. There is currently no evidence of generalised or community transmission of this variant in Nigeria.”

He said the NCDC will continue coordinating and implementing genomic surveillance activities in- country to keep Nigerians reliably informed about existing variants, the Omicron and indeed other variants that may arise based on national data and emerging global evidence.

Khloe Kardashian ‘upset to find out Tristan Thompson cheated again’

Khloe Kardashian has emerged after DailyMail.com exclusively revealed court documents that alleged on/off boyfriend Tristan Thompson got Texas personal trainer Maralee Nichols pregnant in March with his third child while they were still together.

The 37-year-old Hulu reality star was seen keeping a low profile while driving her black Rolls-Royce SUV, on her way to attending nephew Saint West’s sixth birthday celebrations in Calabasas.

The sighting comes as a source doubled down to PEOPLE on Monday, claiming Khloe and Tristan, 30, were still in a relationship in March this year, and that the mother-of-one ‘was upset to find out that he cheated again,’ adding: ‘She just can’t believe that he is going to be a dad again.’

However, a source close to Khloe disputes the timeline of events, insisting to DailyMail.com: ‘They broke up earlier this year around the Spring. Khloe’s only concern is True and maintaining a positive and healthy co-parenting relationship for their daughter as friends.’

World’s worst boss stuns 900 workers by sacking them ALL on Zoom call weeks before Christmas

The CEO of a mortgage startup sacked 900 workers during a Zoom call just weeks before Christmas.

Vishal Garg fired nine per cent of Better.com’s workforce – including the entire diversity, equity, and inclusion team – during Wednesday’s webinar.

Looking visibly uncomfortable, Mr Garg warned staff members that something terrible lay ahead for them on the three-minute Zoom call.

“I come to you with not great news,” the 43-year-old CEO said.

“The market has changed, as you know, and we have to move with it in order to survive so that hopefully, we can continue to thrive and deliver on our mission.

“This isn’t news that you’re going to want to hear. But ultimately it was my decision.

“And I wanted you to hear from me. It’s been a really, really challenging decision to make.”

Not holding back, Mr Garg revealed he would be sacking a whopping 15 per cent of the workforce.

But instead of waiting until the Christmas period was over, Mr Garg made the bombshell announcement during the call.

“This isn’t news that you’re going to want to hear… if you’re on this call, you are part of the unlucky group that is being laid off,” he said bluntly on the call.

“Your employment here is terminated effective immediately.”

One unhappy worker who filmed the call can be heard saying on the footage: “F**k you dude. Are you f**king kidding me?”

After the video was published online, Mr Garg accused hundreds of the now-redundant employees of “stealing” from their colleagues and customers by being unproductive.

In a series of messages seen by Fortune, the scathing CEO wrote: “You guys know that at least 250 of the people terminated were working an average of two hours a day while clocking eight hours+ a day in the payroll system?

“They were stealing from you and stealing from our customers who pay the bills that pay our bills. Get educated.”
